IGSS, Win XP SP2 and antivirus programs

FAQ Question
I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2. When I activate a program from the User Programs menu, nothing happens. I get no error messages. I have verified that the path to the program is correct. Why doesn’t the program appear?

The problem may be caused by an antivirus program running in the background. Users have reported this problem when using the BitDefender and AVG Anti-Virus programs.

The solution is to uninstall the antivirus program and install another product.
