A new paper provides guidance to how multiple system designers can work seamlessly in parallel on the same SCADA project in IGSS Definition e.g. by using the new Project locking feature in IGSS version 13.
When designing larger SCADA systems in the IGSS Definition module it is possible for more than one system designer to work on the same project at the same time for higher efficiency. This goes for both new and existing SCADA systems – and for new as well as older versions of IGSS.
A project with multiple contributors working in parallel does, however, require a structured approach as well as some precautions.
The new paper provides recommendations and a step-by-step guide for the best way to plan and execute an IGSS project with several contributors. The paper outlines different scenarios:
- Building a new project from scratch
- Adding new content to an existing project – with or without Project locking
- Modifying existing content in a project
