My printer and the IGSS hardlock are connected to the same port and I sometimes have printing problems and/or the IGSS programs report a bad or missing hardlock. Why?
Answer
This problem is seen if the printer is using bidirectional communication on the printer port. The solution is to disable bidirectional communication on the port. This is done as follows:
- In the Windows Control Panel, double-click the Printers icon.
- Select the relevant printer.
- Right-click and choose Properties.
- Click the Ports tab.
- Clear the check box Enable bidirectional support.
- Click OK.
