FAQ Question
When I run the update program for IGSS version 8.0, the update program stops functioning and closes, how can i solve this?
Answer
One of the reasons for the update program’s failure could be insufficient access rights to the DMYREP.MDB file.
To find out if you have insufficient access rights to the DMYREP.MDB file, run the update program again and observe the list of programs being updated to see if the update program stops functioning when updating the DMYREP.MDB file.
If the update program stops functioning when updating the DMYREP.MDB file, this can be an indication that you have insufficient access rights to the folder C:\ProgramData\7t\igss32\V8.0\GSS where the DMYREP.MDB is located.
Open an Explorer and browse to the GSS folder of your IGSS Installation folder. The default IGSS installation path is C:\Program Files\7T\IGSS32\v8.0 but your IGSS installation might placed in a different folder.
If the GSS folder is locked for editing, you will see a padlock-icon on the folder.
To unlock the GSS folder:
- Right-click the GSS folder and select Properties to open the GSS Properties form.
- In the GSS Properties form, click the Security tab > Advanced button to open the Advanced Security Settings for GSS form.
- In the Advanced Security Settings for GSS form, click the Owner tab and click the Edit button to set the IGSS user (user that is running IGSS)to be the owner of the GSS folder which grants the IGSS user full control over the GSS folder.
- Click the OK buttons to close the open forms and run the IGSS version 8.0 update again.
