FAQ Question
Why doesn’t my dial-up driver receive incoming alarms from remote PLCs?Answer
The dial-up drivers in IGSS can be configured to receive incoming alarm calls from remote PLCs. When you use this function on a PC where Remote Access Services (RAS) have been set up, you have to verify a Windows setting. Under “Control Panel” > “Network and Dial-up Connections” > “Incoming Connections” > “General”, you will find the “Allow Incoming connections on these devices” check box. This check box must be cleared.
If the check box is selected, the alarm call will never be registered by IGSS, as Windows 2000 will automatically route it onto the RAS server function.
