IGSS32 offers an interface for equipment running the FPC link protocol. The driver supports direct point to point connection and incoming- and outgoing dialled-up connections. The FPC is an efficient and easy to implement protocol that allows reading and writing of multiple 16 bits data words.
The FPC driver supports the standard IGSS32 dial-up features like reading node-id of calling node, performing call-back, reading historical data stored in the node and signalling end of operation when IGSS has scanned the calling node.
The IGSS32 system polls the FPC node cyclically according to one of four user-defined intervals. The time intervals are configurable from 100 milliseconds to 999 seconds. The system automatically groups process data in data blocks- thus fully exploiting the communication link in relation to the present configuration.
