Square-D SY/MAX SY/LINK ID:15

Interface Description

IGSS32 offers an interface for the Square-D PLC equipment. The Square-D interface is designed to connect the IGSS32 system with one or more Square-D PLCs via a PC board. The board is an interface to the Square-D SY/LINK network, and it is possible to use the board types: SFI-510, 533 and 534 (class 8010).

These cards have two ports: One SY/LINK network port and one RS422-port. IGSS32 is able to use both. This means that it is possible to address one or more PLCs on the network via the network port and/or one single PLC via the RS422 port. Using the RS442 port you can connect directly to the CPU port on the PLC. Using the SY/LINK network requires the connected PLCs to be equipped with a network interface board.

There exists a number of registers on the SFI interface board which other units on the network can write into. IGSS32 can also address these registers and thus achieve faster data collection. The reason is that the external units only send the changes when they occur and IGSS32 will thereby get data faster, because it is not necessary to physically access the network.

The IGSS32 system polls the PLC equipment cyclically according to one of four user-defined time intervals. The time intervals are configurable from 100 milliseconds to 999 seconds. The system automatically groups process data in data blocks – thus fully exploiting the the communication link in relation to the present configuration.
