MQTT - for the internet of things

What is MQTT

MQTT (originally MQ Telemetry Transport) is a lightweight, publish-subscribe, machine to machine network protocol.

It is designed for connections with remote locations that have devices with resource constraints or limited network bandwidth.

IGSS MQTT Gateway

IGSS includes a new “IGSS MQTT Gateway” module that makes it possible to exchange data between IGSS and a MQTT Server (Broker).

MQTT is a network protocol, that is often used by IoT devices and Cloud Service Providers for giving access to live data in distributed field devices.

The IGSS MQTT Gateway makes it possible to publish atom values from IGSS objects to a MQTT Server on a regular basis (1 second and up).

The gateway can also be configured to subscribe to values from a MQTT server and store those as atom values on IGSS objects. The IGSS objects that are being used may either be selected individually or specified using wildcards.

If you would like to sat and use MQTT Gateway. Go to IGSS Master. In Design Mode go to the tab Design and Setup and click on the MQTT icon.

If you would like auto start the MQTT Gateway. Go to System Configuration and check the MQTT Gateway box.

MQTT Gateway Setup Support

When activating MQTT Gateway you will be presented with different dialogs to setup MQTT Broker with the necessary information.

This document provides step by step guide on how to connect IGSS MQTT Gateway with AWS IoT Core IGSS MQTT Guideline
