While the IGSS system is running, it’s possible to make changes to it which immediately appear in the application. Changes to the running application are done in the design module, then the Online Update function is activated and the changes are deployed on to the online system without ever going offline.

This is particularly useful in situations demanding the rapid updating of critical parts of the process, where immediate control and monitoring considerations outweigh all else. A new IGSS object, or process component, created in this way will function in a completely normal fashion.
