About positioning and resizing descriptors

You can position and/or re-size a descriptorA descriptor is the graphical display of an object. IGSS includes many types of descriptors including: - Built-in standard symbols - Animated symbols (Symbol Factory library) - Graphics and animation - Drawing symbols - Windows controls - ActiveX controls An IGSS object can be represented with different descriptors on different diagrams. in the Definition module in three ways:

• By selecting the descriptor in the diagram and using the mouse or keyboard arrows to move it .
• By changing the descriptor coordinates in the Property Table Viewer.
• By changing the descriptor coordinates in the Position and Size toolbar.

Some descriptors cannot be re-sized using the Property Table Viewer or the Position and Size toolbar, e.g. object symbols and object texts such as object name, state/value, description, atom time stamps and/or Atoms in OPC server.

The screen coordinates in IGSS start in the upper left-hand corner and all object placement coordinates in the diagrams are based on the upper left-hand corner of the object symbol icon.

Remember to select and position any additionally displayed object information such as object name, state/value, description, units, atom time stamps and/or Atoms in OPC server when re-positioning a descriptor in order to display object information with the descriptor.
