Scenario of Use for Layers - Example 2
This scenario is an extension of Example 1. Hence it is recommended to follow Example 1, before proceeding with Example 2. See: " Scenario of Use for Layers - Example 1"
The challenge
The user again wants to be able to show/hide some operator controls, but now this should be controlled by a configuration parameter or from the PLCs.
The Solution
A digital object will be used as the Controlling Object, which means that its state will determine which view (automatic or manual) should be active.
Steps to be done
Step 1: Create a digital object template
It's not necessary to use an object template for this functionality, however it will make it possible to add additional states and rename these with more descriptive names.
Step 2: Create a digital object based on the object template
A new unreferenced digital object will be created based on the above object template.
Step 3: Set the digital object as the Controlling Object
From the diagram properties, the digital object will be set to control the active diagram view.
