To define diagram function keys

  1. Define a new diagram or open the Diagram Properties dialog box for an existing one.
  2. Click the Function Key Assignment tab
  3. Select the Enable Function Keys check box to enable this functionality.
  4. The name and description of the diagram is automatically displayed and cannot be changed.
  5. Select the desired function key in the Function Keys drop-down list.
  6. Select the object you want the function key to operate on.
  7. If the function key operates on a digital, analog, table or counter object, do the following:
    • In the Index list, select the atom for which you want to change the value (only available for analog and table objects).
    • In the Command/Value list, select the command (digital objects) or value you want to send to the object.
  8. Repeat steps 3 - 5 for each function key you want to assign.
  9. Current object shows a list of function keys defined with their assigned object, index values and command/values.
  10. Click OK to save the new function key assignments.

Up to 24 function keys may be defined for each diagram. During supervision the function keys defined as 1 - 12 are activated with the keys F1 through F12, while the keys defined as 13 - 24 are activated with shift + F13 to F24.

A maximum of 15 of the 24 possible function keys may have a value or a command attached per diagram.

24 global function keys may be defined which are global to the entire project.

Note that F1 is used to access context-sensitive Help. If you assign a function to this key, it will override the access to Help
