To change object template properties

You can edit an existing object template, changing the object template properties in order to update all objects based on the template.

Some object properties are not included in object template updates. See the Changing object template properties topic.

1. In the Definition module, click Template > Edit to open the Edit Template form.
2. In the Edit Template form, select the Area and the Object type the object template is made for.
3. In the Name field, select the object template¹
4. (Optional) Click the Property Table View button if you want to mass-update properties for many object templates at once.²
5. Click OK button to open the Template Properties form.
6. In the Template Properties form, change the object template properties as required.
7. Click the OK button to save the changes and update all objects inheriting from the object template.

¹If the object template you want to change is not in the list of names, you have defined it in an area other than Global. Select the relevant area in the Area field to find the object template.

² If you need to change many properties on an object template or if you need to change properties on many object templates, you can click the Property Table View button to mass-update the properties in the Property Table View form.

Define object templates in the Global area in order to make them available in all areas within the configuration.
