STEP 3: Replicate the control group onto the reusable diagram
In the third step, we replicate the control group onto the reusable diagram. In the scenario, we replicate two further sets of objects to display on the diagram. However, there is no limit to the number of replaceable sets of objects you can insert.
- In the Diagram Properties dialog box, click the Replicate Group button.
- In the Modify Options of Group Members dialog box, do the following:
- In the Substitutes field, type 0 2 to replace the objects named REG01_* with REG02_*, for example, REG01_Setpoint to REG02_Setpoint.
- In the Node field, type #2 to assign node number 2 to the new set of objects.
- Click OK.
- A new group, REG02_GRP, based on REG01_GRP is created.
- Repeat steps 2 – 3, only this time type 03 as the name substitute and #3 as the node substitute.
- A new group, REG03_GRP, based on REG01_GRP is created. Its objects are named REG03_*.
- Press Ctrl + F5 to refresh the diagram.
- The Choose Objects to Display dialog box appears listing the three Groups defined. This is the same dialog box that the operator will see when activating the diagram.
