To define the PLC addressing
Depending on
the object type, some options will be disabled. Simply skip these steps
in the procedure.
If the selected
driver uses other terms than data group, word offset and bit offset, the
driver-specific terms will be shown instead.
This makes it easier for
you to define the PLC addresses, because the terms are now the same as
in the PLC manufacturer’s documentation. However, if you want to show
the default terminology, hold down CTRL when you select the driver.
To define PLC addressing
- In the
Atom group, select the you
want to configure, for example, Actual
Value for an analog object and select the appropriate I/O
mode in the drop-down list.
- In the
PLC node for object group, select
the PLC driver used and the relevant node
number.
- In the
PLC address for <name> atom
group, select the appropriate data
group, word
offset, bit
offset and external
type.
- Dependent
on the selected driver, the terminology may be changed. Data group, word
offset and bit offset are the default terms.

return.
When you define object templates, leave only the Bit Offset field
open so that you only need to fill in the specific address for each object
based on that object template.
